BALTIMORE – The award-winning international architectural design firm CI Design continues to expand, recently bringing Michael Sisson on board as an architect. He will be based in the firm’s Baltimore headquarters.
Sisson’s experience as a registered architect, project manager and project architect for retail, commercial and institutional projects and specialization in sustainable design and new technologies will bring another dimension to the firm’s multiple retail and mixed-use projects underway, said John Larsen, president of CI Design.
“Michael’s experience and commitment to sustainability are informed by a respect for age-old principles of urban design he saw through international study,” Larsen said. “We are delighted to add his talent and point of view to our team.”
Prior to joining CI Design, Sisson was a project manager and project architect at Bignell Watkins Hasser Architects, where he was responsible for schematic design through construction for projects including the mixed-use Hecht East Ivy City, various small-format Target stores and for municipalities including Haddon Township and Parsippany, New Jersey. He also interned with Gardner Mohr Architects, where he assisted with residential projects including Coach House in Washington, D.C.
“CI’s principals were pioneers in recreating existing projects into genuine urban cores that are more sustainable in terms of ecology, and as business investments,” Sisson said. “I’m excited to be a part of what’s next.”
Sisson earned both his Bachelor of Science and Master’s degrees in Architecture from the University of Maryland, and participated in archaeological and architectural programs in Turkey and Italy, respectively.

BALTIMORE – Award-winning international architectural design firm CI Design has named Nicolette Gordon as a designer, continuing its record growth in 2019.
Larsen will bring a strong background in schematic and graphic design to CI mixed-use projects, including the expansion of North Hills in Raleigh, North Carolina and the River Club in Bogota, New Jersey, said John Larsen, CI Design president.
“In her young career, Nicolette has shown exceptional gifts in graphic design and modeling, as well as being a talented photographer and painter,” Larsen said. “We’re delighted she’s brought her diverse talents to our team. ”
Prior to joining CI Design, Gordon was a graphic designer and resident artist at Open Crumb in Washington, D.C.
